Yuum — Privacy Policy
Effective 16 October 2026 · Yuum is published by PixnMind · Contact: vivekmandal@pixnmind.com
Yuum is a video editor for Android and iPhone. Almost everything you do in it happens on your phone. This policy says what leaves your phone, when, to whom, and what is kept: for the AI features you choose to use, for your account if you sign in, for purchases, and for the ads in the free version.
On your phone only
- Captions. Speech is turned into captions on your phone (whisper.cpp, and Vosk's models for Hindi and for placing each word). Your video, its sound and the captions are not sent anywhere to make them.
- Editing. Cutting pauses, framing and zooming on the speaker, steadying, finding faces to hide, cutting out a person, new backgrounds, cleaning the sound and every effect run on your phone. Faces and people are found by their outlines; no one is recognised.
- Recording. A voiceover uses the microphone only while you record; a teleprompter take uses the camera and the microphone only while that screen is open. Takes stay in your project or your gallery.
- Your files and projects. Photos, videos, songs and fonts you add are read on your phone, and projects are kept in Yuum's private storage there. Deleting a project, or the app, removes them.
- Exports go only where you send them (your gallery, or the app you share to). Where a video was filmed is not copied into it.
The AI features (only when you use them)
These run on Yuum's server and the services it uses. Nothing is sent until you start one, and each sends only what it needs:
| Feature | What is sent | To whom (beyond Yuum's server) | What is kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yuum Live, Design the whole video, Design (Yuum Motion), Translate captions, Long video to Shorts, Post kit, AI edit, made looks | The words of your captions with their times, what you type or say (turned into text on your phone) and facts about the project (its length, shape, the clips' names and lengths). Not the video, its pictures or its sound. | Anthropic's Claude, run on Amazon Bedrock (Amazon Web Services) | The answer, sent to your phone and kept in your project; the server keeps it 7 days so a lost answer can be given again, then deletes it. |
| Music made for the video | What the music should be like | ElevenLabs | The music file, stored for you and sent to your phone. |
| AI voice reading, Live voice line | The text to read | ElevenLabs | The voice file, stored for you and sent to your phone. |
| AI voice on the lips | The voice of the clip you chose (up to about 2 minutes) | ElevenLabs | The new voice's file, stored for you. |
| Your own voice (copied) | A sample of your voice (5 to 120 seconds), only after you confirm it is yours or one you may use | ElevenLabs | The copy is made for that one job and deleted as soon as it is done. |
| AI shots (Make with AI, Shot, Move on a photo) | What the shot should show, and for Move the one photo you chose (made smaller) | Google (Gemini API, Veo) | The video made, stored for you and sent to your phone. |
| Stickers and pictures for designs | What the picture should show (a few words) | Recraft | The picture, shared with anyone who asks for the same picture (it holds nothing of yours). |
| Studio captions | The sound (never the picture) of the part of the video its captions cover | No one: Yuum's own model on Yuum's servers (Amazon Web Services) | The words with their times, kept 7 days; the sound is deleted when the words are made. |
| Studio cutout, Studio depth, Remove | The one photo (or, for Remove on a video, the one frame) you chose, made smaller, and for Remove the part you painted | No one: Yuum's own models on Yuum's servers (Amazon Web Services) | What is made, stored for you for up to 30 days; the picture you sent is deleted when it is made. |
Yuum's server also keeps a record of each AI job under your account's ID: which feature, when, how many credits it took and whether it finished, with a fingerprint of the request (a code made from it, not the request). Files stored for you are kept on Amazon S3 and reached only through links that expire after a day. The services above process what they receive to do the job for Yuum.
Reporting what the AI made. Every AI result in Yuum has a Report action (a flag). A report sends Yuum's server the reason you chose (offensive, wrong or other), the note you write, which feature and AI job it was, your account's ID, the app's version and the time. Nothing of your video, its pictures or its sound is sent. Only if you turn on "Include the result" does the report keep what the AI made: its words (up to 4,000 characters), or for an AI shot, music or voice a copy of that file from Yuum's server. Reports are kept for Yuum's team to review and act on, and are deleted with your account.
Your account
- Without signing in. The first time you use an AI feature or the store, Yuum makes an account for your phone: a random ID from Google Firebase, with no name, email or phone number. Your credits and plan are kept under it (Google Cloud Firestore).
- If you sign in (optional: Google, Apple or email and password, through Firebase Authentication), Yuum also keeps the email address and the name your Google or Apple account gives it, so your plan and credits follow you to a new phone. With Apple you may hide your email; Yuum then sees only Apple's relay address. With email and password, Firebase sends you a confirming email and, if you ask, a password reset email. Yuum never sees your Google or Apple password.
- Proving it is Yuum. The app proves to Yuum's server that it is the real app from Google Play or the App Store (Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity on Android and Apple App Attest on iPhone). This sends facts about the app and the phone's integrity, not your files.
Purchases
Plans and credits are sold through Google Play and the App Store, which handle payment; Yuum never sees your card. RevenueCat (Yuum's purchase service) receives the store's record of what you bought and your account's ID, so the plan and credits reach your account; Yuum's server keeps your plan, its renewal date and your credits.
Ads (free version)
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, drawn as cards on Home and after an export. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK collects your phone's advertising ID, an approximate location from the internet address, facts about the phone and the app, and how you interact with ads; Google uses this as described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Where the law asks (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), Yuum asks for your consent first, through Google's consent form. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. A Yuum plan removes the ads.
Downloads
The first time you make captions, Yuum downloads its speech model from Hugging Face; Vosk's models come from alphacephei.com and GitHub, and fonts from Google Fonts. These requests carry your internet address and nothing else about you.
What Yuum does not do
- It does not sell your data, and it has no analytics SDK.
- It does not upload your gallery or your videos. A photo leaves your phone only for Studio cutout, Studio depth, Remove or Move on that photo; one frame of a video only for Remove on it; a video's sound only for Studio captions or an AI voice.
Deleting your data
- In the app: Settings › Account › Delete account. Your credits, AI results, the reports you sent, the files Yuum's server keeps for you and your sign-in are deleted at once, and you are signed out. Your projects and videos on the phone stay until you delete them or the app.
- Without the app: write to vivekmandal@pixnmind.com from the email you signed in with (or tell us that email), and we delete the same within 30 days. See yuum.ai/delete-account.
- A plan is billed by Google Play or the App Store: cancel it there, or it renews.
- Records the law asks us to keep (for example of purchases) are kept only as long as it asks.
